Howdy there! My I’m Nate Earley-Ochwada, or Nate EO for short. I’m a trans-masculine, African American voice/film actor located in Louisville, KY/Southern IN region. While “technically” born in Louisville, I’ve lived my entire life right across the river in Indiana (Kentuckiana, as they call it) with my mom, younger brother and younger sister. I’m also a cat dad of 2 (Lulu and Fiona), a Halloween enthusiast, and a HUGE Bruno Mars Fan.

My acting journey started back in 2016, during my freshman year at New Albany High School, where I was peer-pressured into auditioning for the school musical. Little did I know, that moment would change my life drastically. Through theatre, I discovered who I really am. The idea of playing someone you aren’t, creating a made-up world with all of these other individuals, and being able to use your imagination sparked something inside of me.

From there I went on to start my Scare Acting journey in 2017 at the Culbertson Mansion in New Albany, IN. Once I went off to college, which was 4 ½ hours away, I was limited to how often I could return. In my senior year of college I found Boo Crew Haunted House in Mechanicsburg, IL, to which I could fuel my scare acting drive. Upon returning to Indiana, I then went on to work at Malice Manor in Clarksville, IN. While working there, I’ve earned the nickname “Possum” due to there being 2 “Nate’s” there when I arrived. But…. that also might be because I’ve been a possum… Many. Many times…

It was during my sophomore college that I tried film acting for the first time with Millikin’s student run company, 1901 Productions, in Sonder: An Anthology of Loss. I LOVED it, and knew almost instantly that was the direction I wanted to head. I’ve been told I have a “great radio voice” since 2019, so the same year I tried film acting, I also tried voice acting! I took my first leap into the voice acting world with a comedy sketch radio show called The Radioactive Frog Juncture. Needless to say, I decided I liked voice acting too after that experience! So I guess I headed 2 directions haha…

In 2016, the same year I started theatre, I publicly came out as transgender. I was blessed to be in a supportive environment where I could truly express myself, surrounded by people who cared about me. From coming out in 2016, starting HRT in 2018, to getting top surgery in 2023, I could never be more grateful for every single individual who’s helped me along this journey.

So you might ask; “Why do you do this?” Well, I do it because it’s fun, but more importantly to help you bring your stories to life. Because you never know when someone, somewhere in the world, is going to watch something and think, “Wow. That was really inspiring! I think I want to try that some day!” Or realize that the character they just watched/heard is kind of like them, and they CAN get through that tough time.
